hey, i know this is going to sound kinda weird but i saw your comment on another blog about applying to FIT and im finishing my first year at FIT majoring in fashion merchandising and i have to STONGLY advise against it, FIT is good for design and fine arts but as a business school its kind of a joke, you have to take a lot of pointless classes just so FIT can pretend you work as hard as the design majors and its so specific that its going to be really hard finding a job with a fashion merchandising degree. if you want to get into the buisness side of fashion you should go to a business school and get a fashion industry internship, im switching to another school after this year is done and i know a lot of people who are doing the same
well the thing is not a lot of colleges have fashion merchandising as a major which i should have taken as a indication of its validity, ive meet a lot of people who have graduated from fit with merchandising or advertising majors who are going to college again because they cant get jobs because their majors are so specific. also because fit doesnt require SAT scores and when applying to the merchandising major there isnt a portfolio requirment, the merchandising major gets A LOT of really ignorant untalented people in it. im someone who enjoys subjects other then fashion and the liberal arts classes are so dumbed down its infurating sometimes. i dont want to scare you off though! i was born and raised in nyc so think i'm a little bit tired of the city. i saw youre from spain? i do think a lot of people who are from outside of the city even as close as upstate ny love it because its such a change of senery. my email allinyourinnerspace@hotmail.com if you have any other questions
